Bachelor of Science, Landscape Architecture, University of Wisconsin-Madison
I have substantial experience planning and designing estate gardens and landscapes. I specialize in all-season color achieved through the careful selection of trees and shrubs with winter interest as well as bulbs, perennials and annuals.
Bringing more than 25 years of real hands-on experience, I enjoy helping customers love their landscapes as a healing oasis. A beautifully landscaped property can be a refuge, a place to rejuvenate from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
The LandWorks design process of many coming together offering insight and creativity in their personal areas of expertise to make a project better is so exciting to me. I am a firm believer that many minds are better than one. It may take a bit of patience, but the end product is always much better.
I started learning about horticulture very early. As a child, I gardened with my father in our very large garden that fed our family of 14. I continued from there with several years of horticulture in high school. I have more than 25 years in the landscape industry, most of them spent in the design of estate gardens and landscapes.
I enjoy creating landscapes that span the seasons. I love selecting all the right elements to enhance color and extend seasonal interest. I enjoy helping customers “finish” their landscapes by helping them to choose design elements such as site furnishings, pots, sculptures, arbors, trellises, fire pits – whatever makes their oasis personal and complete.
I love to be outside especially when the weather is beautiful – hiking, biking, kayaking and paddle boarding. I love artsy projects and crafting anything. I have a large collection of indoor and outdoor plants that keep me busy. I am also an active member of the Wisconsin Volunteer Master Gardeners Association.
