I’m drawn down a winding path…Though I began my professional landscape design career in 2006, I’ve also been an English teacher in Japan, a naturalist and environmental educator at a state forest, and a summer school gardening program teacher. I am renewed and inspired by nature – both the ephemeral and the ancient – and aspire to create spaces where one can be immersed in wonder, beauty and comfort.
An ideal day at home involves gardening with my husband while our chickens forage in the berry patch and our honeybees buzz in the flowers. I love travelling, especially to picturesque places where we can camp, hike or paddle around, but I feel equally at home taking in a show or concert. I have been an actor in community theater, a singer in choirs and in a band, a mushroom hunter, a perfumista, a barista, and a florista (if that’s a thing). I am also a skilled and patient marshmallow roaster: Have stick, will travel.
