Samantha Carlson

I am a landscape architect with 13 years of professional experience and a master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. I specialize in residential landscape design, with a particular passion for lake home projects that balance beauty, function, and a strong connection to place.

I create dynamic renderings, three-dimensional models, and illustrative landscape drawings that help clients clearly visualize their future outdoor spaces. My love of planting design was shaped by my time working with renowned plantsman and author Roy Diblik, an experience that continues to influence my thoughtful, plant-driven approach to design.

In addition to my professional practice, I teach at Milwaukee Area Technical College, where I enjoy mentoring the next generation of designers. Outside of work, I can be found rock climbing, stand-up paddle boarding, practicing yoga, or spending time with my husband Tom and our dog, Oakley.
