We are seeking a Horticulturist / Gardener to join our team at LandWorks. In this role, you will nurture and care for plant material on award-winning properties, install seasonal displays, and manage site health. Season starts March 9, 2026.

We are seeking a Horticulturist / Gardener to join our team. In this role, you will assist the Landscaping Services Crew Leader with the success of assigned sites through budget management, technically correct execution of site details in a timely manner, communicating questions and concerns, and following through with direction.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Nurture and care for plant material on beautiful properties
  • Monitor plant material for insects, disease, and pests
  • Proactive site management and Integrated Pest Management
  • Weeding, pruning, and shearing
  • Install and maintain seasonal container pots and Holiday decorations
  • Leadership: Lead by example by excelling at general requirements and performing quality work. Take ownership of work week hours and indirect budgets.
  • Job Site: Contribute to financial success through clear understanding of expectations, execution of details, and accurate paperwork.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors. Utilize phone technology (Aspire work tickets, email, payroll app).
  • Equipment: Responsible for appropriate use and care of trucks, trailers, and tools.
  • Safety: Contribute to a safe workplace through housekeeping and adherence to safety regulations.

Schedule

  • Work 10-hour days, dispatching at 7 am
  • We schedule 5, sometimes 6 days per week; you’ll have the option to work all or some of those days

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

This is a hands-on role that requires physical stamina and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work 10-hour days
  • Ability to adapt to schedule changes based on weather
  • Repetitive bending, twisting, kneeling and lifting more than 50 pounds
  • Exposure to a variety of noise, dust, dirt, vibrations and fumes
  • Exposure to inclement weather and outdoor environment

Experience & Licensing Requirements

  • Proven experience working in a horticulture-related field is required
  • Basic knowledge of perennials, shrubs, trees, and insect/disease identification are required
  • Knowledge of horticultural practices, including irrigation, pruning, and fertilization
  • Valid Category 3.0 pesticide certification or the ability to obtain one within 6 months
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record

Job Type & Pay

  • Full-time position
  • Pay: $18.00 – $25.00 per hour
