What you’ll be doing:

  • Nurture and care for plant material on beautiful properties
  • Monitor plant material for insects, disease, and pests
  • Proactive site management and Integrated Pest Management
  • Weeding/pruning/shearing
  • Install and maintain seasonal container pots and Holiday decorations

Experience Requirements:

  • Proven experience working in a horticulture-related field is required
  • Basic knowledge of perennials, shrubs, trees, and insect/disease identification are required
  • Knowledge of horticultural practices, including irrigation, pruning, and fertilization

Licensing/Certification Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
  • Valid Category 3 pesticide certification or the ability to obtain one within 6 months

Schedule:

  • Work 10-hour days, dispatching at 7 am
  • We schedule 5, sometimes 6 days per week, you’ll have the option to work all or some of those days

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

  • This is a hands-on role that requires physical stamina and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work 10-hour days, 3-, 4-, or 5-days per week
  • Ability to adapt to schedule changes based on weather
  • Repetitive bending, twisting, kneeling and lifting more than 50 pounds
  • Exposure to a variety of noise, dust, dirt, vibrations and fumes
  • Exposure to inclement weather and outdoor environment

Job Summary

Assist the Maintenance Crew Leader with the success of assigned sites through budget management, technically correct execution of site details in a timely manner, communicating questions and concerns and following through with direction.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership
    • Lead by example by excelling at the general requirements, following through with assigned tasks and performing quality work
    • Ownership of work week hours and indirect budgets
  • Job Site
    • Contribute to financial success of the maintenance sites through a clear understanding of site expectations and priorities, execution of site details, communicating concerns and recommendations to Crew Leaders
    • Assist with timely, accurate and legible paperwork
  • Communication
    • As needed / required with co-workers
    • As needed with clients – understand what to say and how to say it
    • Share concerns and recommendations with Supervisor
    • Utilize phone technology – Aspire work tickets, email and payroll app
  • Equipment
    • Responsible for the appropriate use and care of the trucks, trailers, all power equipment and hand tools used to perform the job
  • Safety
    • Contribute to a safe and professional workplace through housekeeping practices at the job site, truck and trailer and LandWorks facility
